This broad division of facial plastic surgery varies from simple wound closures to more radical facial reconstruction. Dr. Greene has extensive experience in the reconstruction of Mohs surgical defects, and many of these procedures can be performed in his office procedure suite. More complicated reconstructions include facial implants and revision surgery following facial trauma. Finally, Dr. Greene performs scar revisions as well for patient with widened scars, hypertrophic scars, or keloids.

Facial Reconstruction (Mohs reconstruction) – Mohs micrographic surgery is the most effective and state-of-the-art procedure for skin cancer today, which offers the highest potential for recovery - even if the skin cancer has been previously treated by another method and recurred. Dr. Greene employs a wide variety of techniques to optimize wound healing and final cosmetic result. Dr Greene's office is equipped to do simple reconstruction procedures in our minor procedure suite. More complex reconstruction is best undertaken in the operating room, at either the hospital or outpatient surgery center.

Mohs Reconstruction - Before & After Photos

This patient had a Mohs defect below her left eye. An advancement flap was performed to prevent any lower eyelid malposition. The patient was extremely pleased with the final appearance of the scar.

This patient had a medium-sized Mohs defect of the nasal tip. A bilobe flap reconstruction gave the patient an excellent result.

Large Mohs defects of the medial cheek are often challenging due to their proximity to the eye. This defect was reconstructed with a cheek rotation flap, with no change in lower eyelid position.

This patient required reconstruction of both a cheek and large nasal tip defect. The nasal defect was reconstructed with a two-stage forehead flap, and the cheek was addressed with an island pedicle flap.
