Dr. Greene sought training in both primary and revision rhinoplasty, as nasal surgery is one of his passions as he appreciates its complex nature. He employs both the external and endonasal approaches, tailoring surgery to the needs of the patient. His background in otolaryngology also taught him to appreciate the functional aspects of nasal surgery, and he recognizes that successful septorhinoplasty does not neglect either aesthetic or functional principles.
The eyes are integral to maintaining a youthful appearance. It is well recognized that the eyes are a focal point of the face, and invite the most attention. The eyes are also one of the first areas of the face to exhibit aging. This can occur in the form of fine lines and wrinkles, heavy bags under the eyes, and excess skin that can hang over the eyes. Patients often report that they always look tired or unhappy. These signs of aging include baggy eyes and puffiness, both of which can sometimes interfere with vision.
Otoplasty refers to reshaping of the ear, and is most commonly done for protruding or large ears. The ear is one of the most anatomically complex structures of the face, and varies in appearance among individuals. Ears attain their shape through folding of flexible cartilage. Some ears develop with abnormal folding, which causes them to protrude.
Many patients request that Dr. Greene repair their Mohs surgery defects. It is very easy to coordinate care with Dr. Greene and the Mohs surgeon. Patients who desire the optimal cosmetic result come to see Dr. Greene at least one week prior to the Mohs procedure. Dr. Greene’s office will then coordinate the repair with the office of the Mohs surgeon. Both procedures are performed on the same day. For patients who do not yet have a Mohs surgeon, Dr. Greene will refer these patients to one of the excellent Mohs surgeons that he works with.
A split or torn earlobe is one of the most common aesthetic deformities of the ear. This can result from heavy earrings, an earlobe that is pierced in an improper position, or from trauma to the lobe. Regardless, it can cause distress to the patient who wants to continue to wear earrings or would like to restore symmetry to their earlobes.
