Lip Augmentation and Enhancement in Fort Lauderdale, Weston, Miami, South Florida
AN EMPHASIS ON A NATURAL LIP AUGMENTATION
There is an art to lip enhancement, which makes selection of an injector critical. The injector must also understand the complex, and sometimes unforgiving, anatomy of the lips. These artistic and technical demands explain why so many patients receive sub-standard lip injections and are left with unnatural results. Patients often believe that lip enhancement always leads to unnatural, over-filled results; in actuality, this should never occur in experienced hands.
Dr. Ryan Greene is a master injector who understands the art of lip enhancement and as a surgeon, the complex anatomy as well. After thousands of filler injections, he is a respected authority on facial fillers, serving as a national trainer for Allergan (the makers of Juvederm and Voluma). His goal is always to create natural, beautiful lips that truly enhance the face.
The lips are one of defining features of the face, and full lips are not only more desirable, but can be rejuvenating as well. While we age, the lips tend to lose volume. Fortunately, a natural lip enhancement can help to return the lips to a more youthful state without looking ‘fake’ or unnatural.
For patients who want a very subtle change to their lips, Dr. Greene often injects a small amount of filler to help define the lips. This can also help to erase ‘smoker’s lines’ around the mouth as well. Dr. Greene calls this his Lip Definition Treatment, which helps to define the features of the lips with a conservative augmentation. For patients who desire or would benefit from some enlargement of their lips, filler can also be used for augmentation. With all of his lip enhancement patients, Dr. Greene’s goal is always to create a naturally augmented lip. This natural look is why a large part of Dr. Greene’s fillers practice is dedicated to lip enhancement.
Juvederm Ultra and Restylane are common fillers used by Dr. Greene for treatment of the lips. Depending on the patient’s desires and their facial features, Dr. Greene will select a treatment plan to create beautiful, natural lips. And while many patients assume that these treatments are painful, discomfort can be virtually eliminated with Dr. Greene’s specially formulated anesthetic cream and injection technique.
Creating full lips demands superior skill and aesthetic judgement.

LIP ENHANCEMENT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)
WHAT IS LIP ENHANCEMENT?
Lip enhancement, or lip augmentation, is an office-based procedure that enhances the appearance of the upper and lower lips. Materials most commonly used for these procedures are Restylane and Juvederm, both hyaluronic acid fillers. Patients who seek lip enhancement have a desire for fuller lips with better definition. Lip enhancement can also help to address unwanted vertical lines and wrinkles around the mouth, also known as smoker’s lines. Lip enhancement is also effective to restore volume in excessively thin lips resulting from aging.
WHO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR LIP ENHANCEMENT?
Any individual who desires fuller lips may be a good candidate for lip enhancement. Patients with lines around the mouth or a poorly defined vermillion border (the junction of the red lip and white lip) may benefit from improved lip definition. Other patients may desire more volume along the red portion of the lip.
WHY CHOOSE DR. GREENE FOR MY LIP ENHANCEMENT?
Dr. Greene has administered thousands of facial filler treatments. He is also a national trainer for Allergan (the makers of Botox and Juvederm) and is recognized by his peers for his excellence and knowledge of facial fillers. He believes in natural results, and has pioneered a new approach to facial fillers. Dr. Greene’s dedication to providing exceptional results for his patients has elevated him to one of the top injectors in South Florida.
HOW DO YOU AVOID MAKING MY LIPS LOOKING LIKE THOSE FAKE ‘DUCK LIPS’ THAT I ALWAYS SEE?
Creating a natural appearing lip requires artistry, good judgment, and excellent technique. Unfortunately, there are a number of injectors who produce artificial, over-inflated results. Dr. Greene takes pride in creating natural appearing lips, and is sought by patients throughout Florida for his lip enhancement procedures.
HOW LONG DO THE RESULTS OF LIP ENHANCEMENT LAST?
The results of lip enhancement vary from patient to patient. However, in experienced hands, the results of a lip enhancement should last for between six and twelve months. Many of Dr. Greene’s patients even notice some enhancement well beyond a year after treatment.
WHAT IS JUVEDERM?
Juvederm is a facial filler made up of hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance that helps to bind water to cells. Juvederm can be used in most areas of the face, and is an excellent choice for lip augmentation and treatment of the lower face. Like other hyaluronic acid fillers, it appears smooth and natural when placed in the lip. The natural appearing enhancement typically lasts between six and twelve months.
WHAT IS RESTYLANE?
Like Juvederm, Restylane is comprised of hyaluronic acid gel. Restylane is often used to treat facial wrinkles such as the nasolabial folds. Restylane can also be used to augment the lips and to correct hollowness in the tear trough below the eyes. Like Juvederm, Restylane creates a soft, natural result that lasts for approximately six to twelve months.
WHAT TYPE OF ANESTHESIA IS USED FOR LIP ENHANCEMENT?
Most lip enhancement procedures are performed with topical anesthesia. In some cases, a nerve block may be performed. There is typically minimal pain associated with lip enhancement.
WHAT IS THE EXPECTED RECOVERY AFTER LIP ENHANCEMENT?
Some minor swelling is expected after lip enhancement. This usually resolves within one to two days. A small percentage of patients will also develop minor bruising that can usually be covered with makeup. Patients should avoid exercise for twenty-four hours after the procedure to minimize swelling. Otherwise, patients can resume work and normal activities.
