Lip Correction Case Study?
This patient came to me after being injected by a local practitioner in Miami. She was unhappy with the results as her lips were left with many lips and an unnatural shape. Her upper lips was also over injected, which creates poor balance between the lips. I performed two sessions of an enzyme treatment to dissolve the improperly placed product and then reinjected filler to improve the shape and balance of her lips.
Not all fillers can be dissolved with enzyme treatment. Some products such as Silicone are permanent and require surgical excision for removal, which can lead to further damage and scarring. I never recommend these products in the lips.
Cheaper is not always better and if a lip correction is needed, then it becomes more expensive and can be emotionally devastating. Fillers are medical treatments and should be performed by a licensed provider who has a lot of experience and knowledge in this field.
