Reverse The Signs of Aging with Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that encourages the production of collagen to rejuvenate the skin. This procedure involves the use of a mechanical “pen” containing multiple very fine needles at the tip. When applied to the skin, tiny punctures are delivered to the epidermis (top layer of the skin), which triggers the body to create new collagen and elastin during the healing process. Results can include improved skin texture and reduction of imperfections in the skin, such as scarring. Microneedling may also be combined with a topical treatment, such as PRP (platelet rich plasma), Exosomes, or another vitamin-rich serum, for additional collagen producing benefits. We use the Evo MicroPen which is the most advanced medical-grade automated microneedling device available.

1. Collagen production and skin tightening
2. Improvement of skin texture
3. Reduction of acne scarring or other types of scarring, such as surgical scars
4. Minimize fine lines and wrinkles
5. Improvement of skin tone and discoloration
6. Minimize pore size
7. Reduce the appearance of stretch marks

After the consultation where we discuss the treatment with the patient, we apply our specially formulated topical numbing cream prior to treatment in order to minimize any patient discomfort. A lubricating topical gel is then applied to the skin to ensure the micro-needling pen can be easily maneuvered over the area being treated. These gels are enriched with anti-aging properties, such as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP), Exosomes, or hyaluronic acid serum. As the micro-needles perforate the skin, there will be minimal pin-prick bleeding. The treatment usually takes 20-25 minutes to be performed, but this can vary depending on area(s) treated. Following the procedure, you will note some redness, swelling, warmth, and a feeling of tightness for 24-48 hours.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What are Exosomes?

BENEV Exosome treatments are based on the most cutting edge scientific biotech breakthrough for skin rejuvenation and regeneration. Exosomes are derived from stem cells and can be added to microneedling and Morpheus8 treatments. Many of the beneficial effects that stem cells have for skin rejuvenation actually come from secreted exosomes. We use the Benev Regenerative Complex PLUS, which is a more powerful version, consisting of 5 billion exosomes. Unlike platelet-rich plasma, a blood draw is not required for the exosome treatment.

What makes ProGen PRP better than other PRP brands?

ProGen PRP Eclipse is a comprehensive platelet-rich plasma system that is made in the USA. As an FDA cleared system, ProGen is backed by quality, safety, and reproducibility studies, so our patients are assured to receive the highest quality of platelet-rich plasma with consistent results. This is important because not all PRP systems are created equal. We use the ProGen PRP system because it maintains to be the “Gold Standard in Platelet-Rich Plasma.”

Is microneedling safe? What are the risks?

Yes, Microneedling is one of the safest cosmetic procedures because the needle punctures are controlled and very precise. You may experience temporary mild skin irritation

after treatment if you have very sensitive skin. Other risks, although less common, include skin hyperpigmentation (darkening of the skin) or infection, which is very rare. Your consultation prior to your Microneedling procedure, you will have a complimentary consultation will ensure that you are a good candidate for this treatment.

What is the downtime for Microneedling?

You can expect mild redness of the skin in the area treated for 24-48 hours. We recommend patients avoid exercise at least 24 hours after treatment.

How many treatments will I need?

Many patients will experience a healthy glow after just one treatment especially if they have added PRP or Exosomes. However, if you are treating specific concerns, such as poor skin texture or scarring, we usually recommend a series of 3-6 treatments.

Is Microneedling painful?

We apply a topical numbing cream prior to treatment in order to minimize patient discomfort. Some describe the feeling of sandpaper being moved across the skin. Most patients tolerate this procedure well.

When will I see results?

Although many patients will see some positive changes within the first week, optimal results usually occur after 2 to 3 months. This allows for complete healing to occur with production of new collagen and elastin.
