Frequently Asked Questions
What is temple filler?
Temple filler is a specialized filler treatment used to treat age-related volume and improve the appearance of hollowed temples that have lost volume due to aging or other factors. There are a number of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers that we utilize for the temples, which include Juvederm Voluma, Restylane Defyne, and Restylane Lyft. These are more structural HA fillers that have the perfect consistency to effectively volumize and recontour the temples for a more youthful appearance. These treatments also soften both the cheek contour and the supraorbital brow ridge, while helping to lift the midface.
How long does temple filler last?
Patients can expect to enjoy the results of their temple filler treatment for at least one year and up to two years. Results can be prolonged with a maintenance treatment that is typically done after 1-2 years.
Is the procedure for temple filler painful?
Temple filler treatment is not considered painful by most patients. There might be slight discomfort as the needle pricks the skin, but this can be minimized with our specifically formulated numbing cream.
What are the potential side effects of temple filler?
Temple fillers have minimal long-term side effects. Patients may experience mild swelling or bruising, but this is uncommon. There may be some soreness for 1-2 days, but this typically resolves quickly.
What should I do after getting temple filler?
There is minimal recovery and downtime after temple filler injections. However, patients should avoid sun exposure and strenuous activities for 24 hours to minimize swelling. You could also avoid pressing down on the treatment area so that the filler can properly.
